Howdy Ya’ll!

Well, that’s one way we say hello here in Texas!  Having spent several years in New Mexico, I picked up the phrase "You Guys" so I guess I am bi-lingual in the greeting department!  HA!  Either way, welcome to my blog!  My name is Mark Hundley — sometimes known as the 5′ 8" baldheaded butterfly (but that is a post for another time).  I am hopeful that we can create some meaningful dialogue through this medium and along the way, share wisdom and insight as we all work to create purposeful lives!

Having traversed the paths of this life for 55 years now, I have acquired a deep love for and fascination with the human spirit.  For over 36 years I have worked in the helping professions — counseling, coaching, writing and speaking.  I am daily amazed by the resilience and power expressed through the human personality!  "Living in the Meantimes" is meant to give voice to stories of valor, courage and inspiration.  Sometimes, I will post thoughts for pondering.  At other times, I will post questions that beg to be asked.  Periodically, I will proffer bits of wisdom gleaned from my years of living.  I invite you to join me on this journey and share the same with me in return.

Let me share with you a brief definition of a "meantime."  Meantimes are those times when all is going well and suddenly, life throws us a curveball which causes us to face challenges or difficulties we would rather not.  Events such as deaths, divorces, job losses, relocations, natural disasters, not making the team (yes, that is tough too you know) — all characterized as "mean times!"  Our task as spiritual beings on a human journey is to learn to live positively in and through those "meantimes" of life and emerge stronger for the experience.

We will share tears, laughter, contemplation and joy — but we will all learn to live more successfully in the meantimes of life — guaranteed!

Until next time~
