With nearly 30 years of experience working within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community, I bring a depth of cultural understanding and connection that is central to my work as a therapist. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science in Deaf Education from Texas Woman’s University, as well as a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I am also a certified sign language interpreter. Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I spent over two decades as a Deaf Education teacher and interpreter. This foundation allows me to offer therapy that is not only clinically sound but also culturally attuned and accessible.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples navigating challenges such as trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and emotional stress. While I have extensive experience supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, I also work with hearing clients who are seeking a thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate approach to therapy.
My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, integrative, and solution-focused. I tailor each session to your unique experiences and goals, creating a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and empowering, never overwhelming or one-size-fits-all.
For my Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients, I offer direct communication and a deep understanding of the nuances that can impact relationships, identity, and daily life. For hearing clients, I bring the same level of care, insight, and individualized attention to our work together.
I offer both in-person and virtual sessions, providing flexibility to meet your needs and preferences.
My goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you.
