Thank you for stopping by our website in your search for a therapist! Allow me to briefly introduce myself as a therapist.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1995 and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor since 2011. I received my BS in Education in Psychology and Special Education from the University of North Texas. I also received a Master’s in Education -Secondary Education and a Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Texas.
I love working with individuals who are ready to face the challenges of life in positive, proactive ways. I work to meet my clients where they are and then companion them on their personal journey toward health and wellness in all ares of their lives. I work best with individuals who are struggling with loss/grief; major life transitions such as health or career changes; and the aftermath of traumatic life events. I partner with my clients to create practical solutions to life challenges that hinder their personal progress.
My interest in working with adults and adolescents facing major life-altering challenges stems from my personal life experiences as a young mother, a non-traditional college student, a school counselor, and step-parent. Creating positive outcomes through the process of counseling is the foundation of my work. I often employ yoga and sandtray in my practice of counseling. I find that these modalities support clients in their personal journey toward health and wellness.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of my practice is that I partner with my husband, who is also a therapist, when working with couples. Couples tend to respond positively to our co-therapist approach.
