Day Sixty-Seven of 365 – Four Steps to Peace

The world is filled with activity. We are often overwhelmed by the seemingly constant demands on our time, our resources, our emotions, our relationships and our minds. We are taxed to the max! In light of these demands, finding Peace can be an almost impossible task.

As difficult as this challenge might be, finding pockets of Peace is essential to our survival. Peace, however, does not come on its own and it does not come without a price. Peace demands choice. It must be sought, created and nurtured.

I want to offer four steps to Peace that anyone can put into play. I am hopeful you will find them useful.

  • We must engage in Quiet Contemplation. Meditation is another word for this activity. Creating a calm mind translates into a calm spirit. Learning to shut out distractions and find that still, small, quiet place in the center of our being can pay huge dividends. Find a time and place that you are willing to build into your day that is dedicated completely to quiet contemplation and I believe you will begin to see a difference in your life.
  • We must Look for Direction. Direction in life does not just appear on its own. Direction does not fall out of the sky and land in your lap. Direction must be sought. When you enter into a meditative state, setting an intention to seek direction for any situation you face, I believe that the Direction you seek will surface.
  • We must Seek Light. Light and darkness coexist. One cannot exist without the other; however, if Light is to win out, it must be sought. Light illuminates. Light reveals. Light distinguishes. Light brings Peace. Light must sought.
  • We must Trust the Process. Learning to create Peace in your life is a Process. It does not happen over night. When we commit to the creation of Peace, we are committing to a process. Even when obstacles arise, we can trust that the Process to produce results.

There you have it. Four simple steps to creating Peace in your life. Simple steps that require mindful commitment. Follow them. Find Peace!
