Sometimes, Round Two: Day 29 of 365 – The Obvious!

Sometimes We Eschew the Obvious In Favor of the Obfuscation And Do So To Our Detriment!

The Obvious! The Facts! The Truth! So much of what we chase in our world focuses on the need to be right; to have an inside track on that which is correct! Often this desire becomes so alluring that we shun that which we seek in order to appear Accurate! When this happens, the obvious takes a back seat to the obfuscation. We rather believe and live the lie than honor the truth!

When we call Fact, Fiction; or Truth, a Lie; or Obvious, Fantasy; or Real, Fake, the only people we fool are ourselves and those foolish enough to allow themselves to be swept up in this charade.

Every time . . . EVERY time we reject the light of the Obvious, we succumb to the dark of the Obfuscation. We lose! Power comes, not from always being right, but from the courage to embrace the Obvious! When we acknowledge the Obvious, we actually give ourselves the chance to learn, grow and differentiate.  If we have any hope to change our world, we must choose the Obvious Over the Obfuscation.

Peace!

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1994 and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor since 2011. I received my BA in Sociology and Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University and my Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Texas.

I specialize in the field of loss/grief and have written, trained, and presented workshops on loss/grief since 1990. Helping clients learn to work toward reconciliation and integration of life losses is the basis of my work in this area.

My wife and I are both therapists and often work together with couples in our practice. We find that couples respond well to our co-therapist approach.
